Sustainable & Smart cities event 29.8.2019 

KPMG hosts a client event targeting cities and municipalities in Finland, the Nordics and all interested parties.

The event aims to highlight the central role of cities in the innovation and implementation of sustainable development in Finland, the Nordics and globally.

Ars Fennica 2019 19.6.-8.9.

At the time of the event there’s an Ars Fennica 2019 exhibition in the museum that the attendees can enjoy.

In the summer of 2019 Amos Rex exhibits contemporary Nordic art with an exhibition of works by the candidates for the 2019 Ars Fennica prize. The candidates are Petri Ala-Maunus, Miriam Bäckström, Ragnar Kjartansson, Aurora Reinhard and Egill Sæbjörnsson. The prize is 40,000 euros.

Keynote speakers

Henrik D. K. Müller

Henrik is the Chief Climate Officer of the City of Aarhus. In 2008 the city council set an ambitious target for the city to become carbon neutral by 2030. To achieve this target, the whole city has to cut its carbon emission in half. To mitigate the climate emission of Aarhus the city has composed an overall climate strategy and a four year climate plan. Henrik leads the implementation of this strategy and works with his staff to reach the set target which requires involving the citizens, businesses, academia and public organizations.

Marcos García

Marcos García has participated in Spanish national and international forums on digital culture, medialabs, citizen innovation and free culture during his career. Marcos has been responsible for the cultural program of Medialab-Prado, as well as for the educational program since 2004. He has developed  the cultural mediation program and the Interactivos –project together with his colleagues Laura Fernández.

Saara Vauramo

Saara Vauramo works as an environmental director for the City of Lahti. ”My aim is to improve drastically the sustainability of our cities using most recent technologies and co-design processes with civil society and enterpreneurs."

Tero Vanhanen

Architect Tero Vanhanen is a luminous visionary from Scandinavia. Tero is passionate about creating town development visions and disruptive business. He is currently working as Phenomenon Creator for Fira Group.
Aalto University Campus
University's campus is in Otaniemi, home of the lively community that supports innovations. The goal of campus development is to mix valuable history and new ways of planning. The surrounding companies, startups, technology parks and the university campus will be integrated more firmly to support the creation of new information and innovations.
Aviapolis
Aviapolis is an international airport city in the middle of a metropolitan area. Its location in a traffic hub has made it the largest and strongest growing business area and employment centre in the Helsinki region.
Finnish Consulting Group
FCG is a strong company rooted in the reconstruction of the Finnish society and extensive experience in international development around the globe. FCG provides its customers with consultation, training, multi-field infrastructural, environmental and urban design and software business services both domestically and abroad.
Kalasatama
Smart Kalasatama, a brownfield district in Helsinki is a vivid Smart City experimental innovation platform to co-create smart&clean urban infrastructure and services. Currently, there are 3,000 people living in the area. The vision of Kalasatama is that smart services save one hour of citizen’s time every day.
